Privacy.
Memory Made makes keepsakes out of your own photos. This page says what we hold, who else sees it and when it goes. Last updated 12 September 2026.
What we hold
- The photos you upload.
- The name you give each person or pet, and whether they are you, your child, someone else or a pet.
- The permission line you ticked, word for word, with the date and the internet address it came from.
- Your email, and the name and address the parcel goes to.
- The order itself: what you chose, what you approved, what you paid.
What we take off your photos
The moment a photo reaches us we turn it the right way up, strip everything else out of the file, location included, and save the picture on its own. The file you sent is never kept as it came.
Who else sees them
- A third-party picture service does the drawing work. Your photos go to it for that one job and nothing else.
- Photos of children are never sent to a face-recognition service. Neither are anyone else's.
- The print partner gets the finished print file and the delivery address. They reach the file through a link that stops working after a day.
- Payment is taken by our payment provider on their own page. We never see your card number.
- Our email provider sends the order updates you asked for.
Nobody else. We do not sell your photos, and we do not hand them to anyone for advertising.
How long we keep things
- Photos, the people you named and the picture set we built of them: gone 30 days after your last order is delivered or cancelled, unless you asked us to keep someone on file for next time.
- Previews and print files: gone 90 days after your keepsake arrives.
- Sign-in links: gone 30 days after they stop working.
- The order record, what it cost us and the permission wording you agreed to: kept, so that we can still answer a question about an order a year later.
Deleting it yourself
On your people there is one button that removes your photos, the people you named and the picture set we built of them, straight away and without questions. Orders that already printed keep their record.
The permission lines
Before a photo of someone else is used, you tick one of these:
I am this child's parent or legal guardian and I'm happy for their photos to be used to make this keepsake.
This person knows I'm using their photos for this keepsake and is happy with it.
We store the sentence you ticked, not a tick, so that later we can both see exactly what was agreed.
Children
Memory Made is for grown-ups buying a keepsake, often of their own children. A child does not have an account with us. A child's photo is only ever used because their parent or guardian ticked the line above, and it is never sent to a service that tries to recognise faces.
Asking us
For a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion of something the button above does not cover, write to hello@memorymade.co and a person will answer.
